Project Lead – Te Pou Ramaroa Education Project

Purpose of the Role - To lead Te Pou Ramaroa, ensuring Māori learners and whānau are supported to access education and wellbeing services, and to foster strong partnerships with providers.

Te Pou Ramaroa Project Overview
Te Pou Ramaroa is an education and wellbeing initiative designed to improve educational achievement and attendance for Māori learners and whānau. The project aims to connect whānau with services, remove barriers to learning, and strengthen engagement with local education providers.
Key Outcomes
Māori learners and whānau are aware of education and wellbeing services and know how to access them.
Whānau and taiohi re-engage with local education services and supports.
Local education services are supported to provide high-quality engagement with Māori learners.
An iwi-based facility is available for whānau unable to access services.
Key Responsibilities
Lead planning and delivery of Te Pou Ramaroa.
Liaise with Ministry of Education for milestone reporting.
Engage with taiohi and whānau to identify and address barriers.
Coordinate Education Support Days (2 days per week).
Provide oversight to Pou Tautoko role.
Skills and Experience
Strong leadership and project management skills.
Experience working with Māori communities.
Knowledge of education systems and processes.
Excellent communication and cultural competency.
Proficient milestone reporting and documentation.
Full NZ driver licence.
Ability to pass a Police Check.
