Pou Project – Aotea (Great Barrier Island)

Do you whakapapa or have close connections to Ngāti Rehua or Ngāti Wai ki Aotea?

Are you a ringa toi with experience in large-scale art installations?

We are calling for expressions of interest to design and create a Pou (sculptural marker/art installation) at Ōruawharo, Medlands Bay, Aotea. The Pou must visually symbolize the area's rich history and cultural significance, rooted in the story of Tōhunga Tamatea Arikinui Ruawharo. It must honor the legacy and enduring mana whenua of Ngāti Rehua – Ngātiwai ki Aotea.

This project will need to be completed by the end of June 2026.
