Your application will be processed by Election Services, who have been engaged by the Ngāti Rehua–Ngātiwai ki Aotea Trust Board to maintain our Iwi Beneficiary Database. The whakapapa of all applicants is verified by our Whakapapa Validation Committee, comprising senior kaumātua from across the iwi. Only those who can demonstrate direct whakapapa to Rehua, Te Awe, or Ranginui are eligible to be recognised as beneficiaries of the Ngāti Rehua–Ngātiwai ki Aotea Trust Board.

In accordance with our tikanga, as upheld by our tūpuna and kaumātua, the Trust defines “whāngai” as those who share direct whakapapa by blood.
