Acknowledging Marilyn Stephens
Finally, and most importantly, we acknowledge Marilyn Stephens for her time and commitment to serving our people as Trustee lead of Pou Whenua. In 2025, under her guidance we held the Taiao Wānanga, enabling many whānau to visit Rākitu – for some, the first time in their lives. She also worked alongside DOC to return tīeke to Rākitu and helped create pathways into taiao mahi, including the Kauri Health Survey project rolling out in 2026. She also lead the opening of our very own Native Plant Nursery which is located in Akapoua, Port Fitzroy.
Her leadership and dedication have shaped meaningful opportunities for our people and our whenua - Ngā mihi nui e te Rangatira.
