Our Kaupapa

We’re excited to share that Toitū Aotea’s first Community-Led Development (CLD) project is underway, with a new pizza ovens installed at Kawa Marae and Glenfern Sanctuary.

In 2025, we’ve also hosted community hui and held multiple steering group meetings to make the application process simple, fair, and supportive for both mana whenua and hāpori.

We have been successfully funded for two projects in 2026 - Waitangi Day celebrations and Port Fitzroy Boat Shed renovations. We are looking at applying for further funding to establish a maara kai. Participation remains central, leveraging both grassroots dialogue and digital engagement to ensure all voices contribute to Toitū Aotea’s inclusive, values-driven future.
